When you need a replacement
Hot water tanks last 8 to 10 years on average. Replace yours if it's making rumbling noises, showing visible leaks, or leaving you with cold showers. Start planning for replacement around year 8 to avoid flooded basements, mold problems, and insurance issues from sudden tank failure.
Choosing the right tank
Tank size depends on your household's daily water usage. Consider how many people live in your home and your typical water use for showers, dishwashing, and laundry. You can choose from electric, natural gas, or propane models based on your home's existing utilities and venting setup.
Professional installation matters
Proper installation also requires permits, correct drainage, safe pressure settings, and proper venting. We handle all permits, and ensure your system meets all safety codes. Installations without permits or poor installation can void insurance coverage and create safety hazards.
