Heat Pump Installation
Heat pumps work incredibly well in BC’s mild weather, giving you both heating and cooling from one system. Choosing the right type for your home, understanding how much you’ll save, and getting it installed properly are the key steps to staying comfortable year-round.
Choosing what's right for your home
Every home is different, and we'll help you find the perfect heat pump to match your needs. For homes without existing ductwork, flexible "mini-split" systems are a fantastic solution. If you already have a furnace, a central heat pump can work with your current duct system. We can even create a "dual-fuel" setup that combines the heat pump with your gas furnace, giving you efficiency year-round.
Understanding how much you'll save
This is where the benefits really add up. In our mild BC climate, heat pumps operate at an incredible 250-400% efficiency, which can cut your heating costs by up to half compared to electric baseboards. When you add in the available rebates from both the provincial and federal governments, typically many homeowners find their new system pays for itself in just 5 to 8 years—all while you enjoy perfect comfort, all year long.

To keep your heat pump running efficiently, professional maintenance should be completed annually by a licensed technician. You can help by cleaning or replacing the air filters monthly and ensuring the outdoor unit is clear of any leaves, snow, or debris.
Your new heat pump is covered by a manufacturer’s parts warranty, which requires professional installation to be valid. We stand by the quality of our work with our own labour warranty. For complete details on what is covered, please visit our Warranty Policy page.
Significant rebates are available for heat pump installations through both provincial (CleanBC) and federal programs. These programs change frequently, and as a FortisBC Trade Ally Member, we help you navigate the application process to maximize your savings. For more information, visit our Rebates page.
Many heat pump installations require a dedicated 240V circuit, and some older homes may need a panel upgrade to support it. Our home comfort advisor will assess your home’s electrical system during your initial consultation.
Modern heat pumps are designed to be very quiet. A typical outdoor unit runs at about 60 decibels, which is similar to the sound of a normal conversation or a modern refrigerator. The indoor units are even quieter. We ensure the outdoor unit is placed properly to minimize any sound, so it won’t be a nuisance to you or your neighbours.
